This is a great question, and surprisingly tough for me to answer. I think I'm honestly a little self-conscious about my tendency to outgrow-and-never-look-back 😳

I think journaling is an easy one, ballet/dance in some form (I don't revisit them often, but when I do it usually comes with a tidal wave of B-I-G feelings!), Roller Coaster Tycoon as of late (thanks, pandemic-induced self-soothing!), and obviously, Gilmore Girls. 🍂

I think outgrow-and-never-look-back is an underrated quality! I imagine it's healthy to have a mix of the two: finding joy in the preciousness of the past AND being open and willing to invite in the new. One thing I definitely want to experience with you (outside of your wedding reception, which was a blast and also what feels like a million years ago) is dance! We both have such different experiences with it but share a love and appreciation for it (both as an art form and something we enjoy). Also, I don't know if I've ever asked you if you reread any of your old journals!

I actually don't. Not unless I'm looking for something I know I wrote, for a specific reference reason, which doesn't happen to me very often. And yes to dance!

The biggest thing that has stuck has been the music. As I get older, I am less and less familiar with popular music (I was about to say "on the radio," but I haven't listened to the radio in like a decade!) and tend to return to my tried-and-true artists and songs from the late '90s and early '00s.

Beyond that, I think my love of crafting, curating my space, and wearing the "right" outfit for the occasion has always been a part of me. That's one of the fun parts of rereading old journals—same thoughts and feelings, different contexts 😂
